Beautiful gelding with super conformation and movement
Drummer Boy is a modern and elegant gelding with very correct conformation and lots of presence. His movement is beautiful and expressive. He uses his back well in all three gaits. His walk has a good over step and a good clear rhythm. His trot is ground covering with good of his hocks producing lots of suspension. His canter is solid and collection should be easy for him. Drummer Boy enjoys attention and has a very sweet loving personality.
His sire Don Principe is a modern young stallion who is successfully competing in dressage as well as producing quality youngsters. In 2005 he was the USDF Reserve Champion DSHB Stallion Horse of the Year and ranked fourth in the FEI Six-Year-Old Division. In addition he competed successfully at the Prix St. George level. In 2007, he finished third at the USEF Developing Horse Finals. Don Principe is off to a great start winning both the PSG and Intermediaire I at the CDI Dressage show at the Kentucky Horse Park, in May. His progeny are also winning accolades in the breed ring! Don Regale MF was the 2006 USDF Horse of the Year for weanling colts. Duke Principe MF and Dynamic MF were both ranked 13th. In 2007, six offspring were in the top ten for the USDF HOY awards.
Drummer Boy's dam, Winterzauber, has the best of the "W" Hanoverian bloodlines. Winterzauber's sire Winterprinz is by Warkant out of an SPS Weltmeyer mare. Winterprinz is a dressage competitor as well as standing at stud. In 2005 he was the AHS Champion and the USDF Reserve Champion for Intermediare I. Winterprinz is known for his trainability and wonderful temperament which he has passed along to both Winterzauber and her filly. Winterzauber's dam is a Wertherson mare, and Wertherson is an approved son of the German stallion "versatile" Werther who was well known both for his dressage and jumping ability!
With both his sire and his dam sire champion dressage competitors, this colt is bred to be a champion. Drummer Boy's sire and dam are also known for their wonderful temperaments and rideability and he is already showing these qualities. Drummer Boy is a quality dressage or hunter prospect who should mature to around 16.2 hands.
