Striking Black dressage prospect
Drop-dead gorgeous, Dare To Dream is an outstanding black gelding with exceptional movement and a terrific temperament. He has excellent conformation with a well placed neck and shoulder that allows for the big movement his sire line is known for. At his inspection, the judges were very impressed by the quality and expressiveness of his movement as well as his conformation. They felt he had a bright future ahead of him.
His sire, De Laurentis, is from De Niro/Caprimond breeding. De Laurentis is known for his beautiful gaits. At his stallion testing in Germany, he scored 9.17 for his walk, 8.73 for his trot, and 8.33 for his canter. In addition, he scored 9's for temperament, character, willingness and constitution. Dare To Dream has clearly inherited these qualities from his sire.
Dare To Dream is out of MS Boario, our Bordeaux /Weltmeyer mare. This mare's bloodlines are a Who's Who of the top dressage bloodlines. Boario herself has a wonderful forgiving nature and a willingness to work that makes her a pure pleasure to ride. Her son has also inherited this loving personality.
A gorgeous black gelding, Dare To Dream has the mind and the loving temperament to be the perfect amateur horse and the athletic ability to compete at the upper levels.
Dare to Dream is doing wonderfully with his new owner, Phoebe Devoe-Moore. He was started under saddle in March 2010 and really seems to love being ridden. In May in went to his first MDA Schooling show. He scored a 69.0 % in Intro A Senior with Claudia, his regular rider and a 67.5 % in Intro A and a 68% in Intro B with his young 13 year old rider Elizabeth! The judges commended him on having a “very active test” on all three tests. Dreamy has only been under for 2.5 months and we are delighted not only with his scores but how well he handled the whole show situation!
He performed equally as well in his second show at Ships Quarters and the judges commented that he was a "Lovely, Light Mover" and had a "Great Quality Walk". We know he has a bright future as a dressage horse and really look forward to updates on his progress. For more information on Dare to Dream check out Phoebe’s website www.thornridgemanor.com.
